During these last few months, together, we have faced unprecedented challenges. We’ve seen loved ones and neighbors ill or worse with COVID-19, we’ve dealt with an economy that virtually was shut off like a light switch in March, and we’ve seen social upheaval in our nation’s streets that hasn’t been seen in generations.
In each of these cases, the good people of Lake County’s 12th District have come together and supported each other.
We’ve been socially distancing which has brought our COVID-19 numbers down by tenfold, we’ve seen already struggling businesses step up and support our front line medical workers with meals, we’ve had our neighbors volunteering at food banks, and have had peaceful protests for social justice right here in Lake Forest.
We are a wonderful and supportive community and it is such an honor to represent you on the Lake County Board.
In some positive news, the Governor is slowly reopening the economy as we have official moved into Phase 4 of the Reopen Illinois Plan today! Learn more about what this means to you here.
We also learned this week that our public school students will be back in the classroom in the Fall. The Illinois Department of Public Health announced this week that schools will have in-classroom instruction with appropriate safety measures. While it is true that school for our young students will be different, I am confident that getting kids back into the classroom can be done safely. Learn more about the guidelines from the state here. Please note these are guidelines from the state and each school district will likely have their own specific plans that will be announced in the coming weeks.
As usual, I want to hear from you! Please shoot me an email at [email protected] and let me know how you are doing, if you have important news that you feel we should share with the community, or if I can be of any help with services from Lake County.
